I literally was speechless after that moment.other than saying the word "fuck" over and over and over again.įisher's shot was another miracle shot (like Shaq said, one good shot deserves another).but the Spurs never felt in control of that series. However, I still feel like 2013 as my hardest Spurs moment. Also some drama with Rodman there.who ended up going to the Bulls for their threepeat. I twas but a lad during the 95' WCF, so I only have heard stories.but I know that had to be tough for DRob after winning MVP and then going out against Hakeem (who felt like he should have won). Most Spurs fans would admit that he was dirty asf despite being an incredible defender. I'm actually surprised you're defending him. Type in dirtiest player in NBA history and you'll find the consensus to be Bruce Bowen at or near the top in damn near every one. Look, we can go back and forth all day, but the reality is that this conversation has already been done so many times that I'm surprised we're even having it. I never said Ron Artest wasn't dirty, I'm fully aware of malice in the palace and absolutely agree that he's up there in the convo, so thats pretty irrelevant here considering I said Bowen was "debatably" the dirtiest player in NBA history. KD Warriors vs 2014 Spurs would be an amazing matchup. It was incredible to watch and besides the KD Warriors, I've never been so sure of a team that was going to win it all than the 2014 Spurs. You could see the difference immedietly between the Spurs and a solid deep playoff bound team in the Blazers.

I remember in the 2nd round the Blazers (coming off a huge win over the Rockets with the Dame game winner) would make back to back 3s to bring the momentum over and the Spurs would just keep playing within their system, making it feel like they were bigger than individual players and really made the series feel like it was over after the 1st half of game 1.

They always made the right pass, played stifling defense and had all the right pieces. I had their balls shoved so far down my throat I honestly believed they could beat the Team USA team that year. I've always said this, but to this day that's the best team basketball I've ever seen and legit I didn't see any team stopping them. OBPM is easily viewable on their basketball reference pages Manu has substantial edges on Klay with offense and off ball defense.

Klay is another player who excelled in adapting to whatever large or small usage his teammates constituted, but I don’t think I could believe Klay was a better player, more skilled player, or anything more than Manu besides a much better shooter. In totality Manu was a better offensive and defensive player than Klay somewhat noticeably removed of him. Now that per possession does help account for the slow pace Manu played at, but it is also a little unfair that Manu was playing 99% of games in 05 and 11.

Shaq and Stockton are right behind him however.Įven if you discount anything plus minus based Klay still lags behind in a 5 year stretch of playoff OBPM (purely boxscore estimate no plus-minus) with 1.6 from 15-19 compared to Manu’s 3.8 from 05-10 (excluding 09 as he didn’t play).įor their playoff primes Manu scored 30 points per 100 possessions on +7 rTS% and Klay scored 27 points per 100 possessions on +2 rTS% (weighted for opposing playoff defenses).
